Hello

Hi, I'm Jo, an artist from Perth, Western Australia, who has a passion for painting beach and seascape artworks and capturing the beauty of the water and surrounds on canvas. I strive for a peaceful lifestyle and believe that the calm nature of the works I create, add to the all important feelings that your home should encompass - serenity and tranquility.

Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you find a piece that you will connect with.
If you're in Perth, please feel free to message me and make a time to come and see me in my studio and gallery.

My Story

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember - I think in some shape or form, I have always been an artist, right from that very first painting in pre primary of a blue man with a big round head and bright yellow sun in the corner (I still have that painting today!).

After school I studied a certificate of Art & Design through the WA School of Art & Design and then at the print training unit of TAFE where I focused on graphic design.
I worked as a designer for many years with different printing companies and then ran my own design business.

When my children grew, I needed to do something different and just for myself and thats when I discovered my love of painting again. I created pieces for my mum and dads home and other family members so that I could paint for fun. During Covid, I realised that people loved the idea of having a beautiful painting of a beach on their walls as they could not travel to such destinations, so having that type of art in their homes was the next best thing. So thats where I decided to keep my focus - coastal art - and I love it!

I live on a beautiful property in the Perth foothills and am fortunate to have a lovely studio and gallery at home where I get to work to the sounds of birds and wildlife every day. It is a very peaceful place to live and since being here I have realised the 'why' of my art - purely to create peace and tranquility. It has also made me realise how important feelings are that you get within your home. No matter where you live, you should feel at ease whenever you walk in your door and I believe that having the right art hanging in your home, can contribute to that.

The best thing about being an artist is knowing that my work is hanging in peoples homes where they get to love and admire it every day. I will forever be grateful that I get to work on my passion as my career and share it with others.
